Yeah, if it exists, someone out there will be offended by it. And no, I'm not just limiting this to Conservative bible thumpers either. There are some Liberal hippies that take their Political Correctness way too far as well.
I mean, I knew a (gay) guy who found Sesame Street offensive. Why? He believed that Bert and Ernie are homophobic gay stereotypes and that the show mocks gay people. I don't know where he is coming from, but it goes to show that people of all walks of life can find something offensive over the most banal things.
There are also some people who bitch about there being not enough non-Caucasians being represented in the media. But when there are like Black, Asian or Hispanics being represented, people scream at that ethnic character being a "racist stereotype" and start crying racism over stupid petty shit. I mean really? Isn't it better to have them represented that not being represented at all? So what if there is a comic relief character who happens not to be white? Do they actually think that all people of color are humorless, dry old sourpusses that have foul tempers all the time? That I find much more racist than "ethnic comic relief" characters.
Oh my, some people...they need to calm down and realize that you cannot please everyone. If it exists, no matter how innocent the story is, someone will whine and cry all over it. I say let them whine and cry and enjoy what you like. Don't let a bunch of PC thugs ruin everything for you.
